ABOUT
As a design and lifestyle journalist, Claire Bingham is at her happiest writing and photographing subjects on design, travel and style. She grew up in Yorkshire and after leaving the Kent Institute of Art & Design with a First Class (hons) degree in Communication Media, her career started at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, before moving to antiques and furniture design at Christopher Howe. It was from here she made the switch to journalism, joining Elle Decoration UK as Homes Editor.
Over the past 20 years she written for international magazines and newspapers including The Observer Magazine, House and Garden, Architectural Digest, Casa Vogue and many more. As such, she is independent, resourceful, adept to working to tight deadlines and can deliver well-written copy quickly and to deadline. Her interests revolve around seeking creative adventures: through people, places, culture, craft and food. She has travelled extensively and after two decades of living in London, Milan and Sydney, is now based in Cheshire, UK. Today, she freelances as a writer and photographer with the aim to create compelling editorial with a unique and personal point of view.
Alongside editorial, Claire has brand agency experience. In 2008, she worked as Creative Partner at TBWA\Manchester. She regularly consults on trends along with creative direction for interior and lifestyle brands.
During the past five years Claire has worked closely with publishers Thames & Hudson and teNeues media to create books on the subjects of design, food and fragrance. The joy of working on a creative concept, meeting the talent behind the scenes, editing the content and collaborating with a team of art directors, editors and photographers to see the book come to life is something she excels at.
